The highly anticipated Nordstrom store at Christiana Mall, east of Newark, Del., opened on April 8, 2011 to a crowd of several hundred shoppers, who received hearty applause from employees. The 123,000 square foot store features two levels of shopping and a host of high-end retail goods, including some lines sold only in Delaware. Sixth & Pine, a restaurant named after Nordstrom's flagship location in Seattle, will debut in Wilmington and will be the first of its kind for the retailer.
